Teresa Granato

As an accomplished Childcare professional, with extensive experience in training, educational leadership, mentoring, consultancy and business management. My objectives are to inspire, lead and support high performing teams of Early Childhood Educators.

I have held leadership roles throughout my career, including Area Management, State Management and National Training Manager. I initially worked in the retail sector to assist with the success and strategic development of businesses, creating a strong team culture, recruiting staff, implementing training programs and initiating changes to support successful operations. In 2002 I obtained my Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and began my own business in training, consultancy and mentoring, supporting various retail businesses, which then expanded into the Child Care Industry.

In 2009 after the completion of my Certificate 111 and Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care and many industry professional development workshops, I undertook my first consultancy role assisting a service provider to establish workplace procedures, policies and a strategy to ensure the business became financially viable and successful with teams, families and children. Within 4 months of assuming this role, I was preparing the service for their first Assessment and Rating Audit, which resulted in achieving an overall rating of Exceeding.

I currently consult in a variety of long day care and family day care services and have worked in various roles which include: Supporting Service Providers, Directors, Educational Leaders and teaching Early Childhood Education and Care in secondary schools.

After reviewing the operations of various Child Care Centre’s in both long day and family day care settings, it is evident that the industry has many very passionate, skilled and dedicated personnel. With the changing landscape of the Child Care Industry, it has precipitated a need for business owners, managers, directors and educators to explore and seek support to fulfil their responsibilities and daily operations.

My role is often dynamic and may change from the initial brief, requiring a high level of professionalism and confidentiality, with access to information specific to that service.

I am passionate about achieving high standards and explore all opportunities available to achieve the desired outcome. I aim to inspire teams and take them on a journey of change, improvement and ownership of their new knowledge.

My insight and experiences recognise, the necessity to provide quality care which differentiates your services operation from your competitors. This is often measured by individuals that demonstrate strong leadership skills and underpin all initiatives, with the needs of the children and the unique community they represent.
